Still Alive in Ireland!

Sorry it has been so long since i wrote! My access to the web has been a tad restricted.

Ill try tomorrow, but i will say this:

1. ) America is not the only country with an obesity problem!

2.) I am missing my plant based diet. I am very happy that even a delivious tasting fish and chips feels like a lead balloon in my belly!

3.) No worries on me falling back into an unhealthy lifestyle! I feel worse if i have too much Guinness, and i feel bad after a less than healthy meal.  All good!

4.) my golf game can be better!

Again, sorry i have not been updating that much~\\

Slainte~

Yay for the unhealthy food not playing nice with your system. I mean that in only the nicest way. ;-)

Sorry about your golf game, sounds like my hubby's. You have my sympathies.

have fun,
Alicia

I have to say I just started reading your blog 2 days ago and have ready every entry. You are definitely an inspiration to me and I am planning on starting my own journey in the next couple of weeks.

Keep it up and I look forward to reading more from you!..

I know what you mean; I lived in Co. Tipperary for 6 years and in Dublin city for two years...Irish love their takeaways and their steak and potatoes. My experience was that the older generation ate reasonably, but the younger generations tend to be just as bad as Americans with the processed/junk/fast foods...not to mention the grease feasts at the local chipper that follow a night out on the drink.

Not sure where you are in Ireland, but if you go to Dublin, check out Cafe Fresh in the Powerscourt Centre...they do all vegan/vegetarian. I used to work there about 8 years ago...I can't say the food is the same as it was then...I don't know, but if it is, you'll find plenty of healthy veggies and legumes in the food there.

Also, I've never been, but Cafe Paradiso in Cork city is quite a famous vegetarian restaurant...if you're there may want to consider it for your dining options.

Have fun!
